About TAPA RIO
Family has always guided our food loves, and the dinner table is where we have gathered, spoken, laughed and sometimes cried.
The name TAPA RIO (“top of the river”) is derived from our eponymous location with its panoramic views of the Rappahannock River. The word “TAPA” holds a double meaning for us: it not only means "top," but it offers a sincere nod to our tapas-style shared plates reminiscent of those offered in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Chile. You’ll also find a full bar plus a carefully selected list of imported wines and beers that wonderfully complement our menu items.
Our team’s commitment to service may strike you as unique. Dining is brasserie-style: casual, moderately priced, and without any pressure for you to order all at once. We encourage you to hold onto your menu and order rounds of shareable dishes. We serve food quickly, as soon as it’s ready, hot and fresh from the kitchen. You’ll find that our flavors are fun, unique and bold — and, we combine those flavors with a commitment to make your visit memorable.
We welcome you to experience TAPA RIO. Whether you’re sitting next to our cozy fireplace in the winter or dining out on the patio in warmer weather, our food, service and river views will entice you back again and again. We hope you will always remember dinner with the TAPA RIO Family!
Buen Provecho!
